On Texel, there are plenty of bars and pubs where you can get a drink, but if you’re ready for a hip hot spot, head down to Vibes Foodbar in Den Burg. This bar serves local dishes such as Texel lamb and chips made with Texel ‘Agria’ potatoes.
Den Burg is the ‘capital’ of Texel, which makes it the place to be for the trendiest places, one being Vibes Foodbar. They cook using local produce but the industrial-look interior gives you the impression you’re in London or Amsterdam. A source of particular pride are the mudflat croquettes which are also made from local ingredients. The shrimp croquettes are filled with shrimps from the Texel cutter TX-65 and the vegetarian croquettes contain sea lavender and goat cheese.
Nice to know!
Another great place, especially for coffee, is Lokaal 16 on Gravenstraat in Den Burg. They make their coffee with beans from Texelse Branding, a local roasting house.
