In the hilly region around Maastricht, it feels like you’re abroad. Between the hills, you can find one vineyard after the other where they produce special wines. And of course, you must taste these, for instance at the Apostelhoeve in the Jekerdal.
The Apostelhoeve is situated on the edge of Maastricht, on top of the Louwberg, and has been producing dry white wines since 1970, making it the oldest vineyard of the Netherlands. From the vineyard, you’ve got a beautiful view over the hilly landscape. If you didn’t know any better, you’d truly believe yourself to be in France. Combine a visit to the winery with a tour of the vineyard, the press house and the wine cellars, and complete the visit with a sampling to assess the wines. Hoeve Nekum is also worth a visit.

The Apostelhoeve produces six dry white wines: Müller Thurgau, Auxerrois, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Gris Barrique and the Apostelhoeve Cuvée XII. They also make two sparkling wines: Apostelhoeve Riesling Brut and Apostelhoeve Cuvée XII Brut.
