The Sint Servaas bridge is the oldest and most well-known bridge of Maastricht as well as the most photographed one. But Maastricht has four more bridges. One of these is the Hoge Brug, or ‘Hoeg Brögk’ in Maastrichts: from an architectural point of view, this is also a real highlight.
Pedestrian and bicycle bridge the Hoge Brug was opened in 2003, making it the youngest bridge of Maastricht. It connects the new Céramique district to the historic city centre. The bridge’s design is sensational: a metal arch with a length of 261 metres, without pillars in the water. With this design, Liège architect René Greisch won the national Steel Award in 2004. Walk across the bridge for a beautiful view of the city’s skyline.

To the side of the old city centre, you can walk right into the green Stadspark from the bridge, nearby Onze-Lieve-Vrouwewal. This is one of the oldest parks in the Netherlands.
