Who could resist coming to Meneer Peer’s, where you can order delicious, freshly made sandwiches or a piece of cake in vintage surroundings? There’s a lovely play corner and peanut butter sandwiches for the kids. For the very young, there is pureed fruit on the menu.

Meneer Peer (Mr Pear’s) is a stylish building overlooking the Weerdsluis. In summer you can sit and eat your sandwiches on the sluice steps. It’s just as pleasant inside because the amiable owners, Floor and Renske (friends since nursery class) have created a stylish living room where you can relax with a cup of coffee or meet friends for lunch. Everything you see comes from family attics or has been bought from vintage markets.
