This year, we’ll be celebrating King’s Day on Monday, April 27, 2026! The royal family will be visiting Dokkum in the province of Friesland this year. The city is gearing up for a festive day filled with fun, music, and, of course, plenty of orange spirit.
Fun fact about the city: Dokkum is one of the eleven cities on the famous Elfstedentocht route!
It promises to be a lively event, so whether you’re coming for the flea market, the festivities, or the royal visit: Dokkum is the place to celebrate King’s Day 2026!
On King's Day, the capital transforms into a giant festival site. Whether you want to browse the flea market early in the morning or party until the late hours, Amsterdam has it all! The iconic The Life I Live Festival on King's Night is free and takes place at various locations in the city centre. Would you rather sing along with Dutch artists? Then you should head to Hollands Live in Zuiderpark, where Gerard Joling and Monique Smit will be performing.
